TGA
Consulting Engineers LLP were employed by Newnham College over a
period of nearly 10 years during which time a range of important
design projects were undertaken. The
Rosalind Frankin Building, a new build hall of residence for post
graduate students, was
completed with Allies and Morrison Architects.
Accommodation was provided in a number of houses formed
within the new buildings. Clough,
Sidgwick and Piele Halls were fully refurbished to include completely
new electrical services and, in the case of Sidgwick Hall, en-suite
bathrooms were incorporated with new mechanical services throughout. TGA
carried out a detailed condition survey of the whole of the
engineering services within the College.
This resulted in a report which identified compliance and
performance issues and identified potential solutions with budget
costs. We
subsequently worked on a series of Engineering Services infrastructure
projects to execute the recommendations of this report.
They including the complete replacement and de-centralisation
of the College's district heating system. .
