TGA Consulting Engineers LLP were employed by Imtech Aqua Building Services Limited under design and build duties to undertake the Mechanical and Electrical Design associated with the Redevelopment of the Epping Forest College Campus.

The redevelopment comprised the new build circa 14000m² four storey college building. The overall value of the project was circa £30 million, with the Mechanical and Electrical Services works circa £5 million.  Morgan Ashurst PLC were appointed as the Main Contractor with Morgan Professional Services employed as Architects.

The new campus facility consisted general spaces, such as teaching spaces, finance offices, library, LRC areas, science rooms, student refectory, computing and IT suites.

These general spaces were completed by an internal main street spanning the entire length of the building and covering all four levels.

Specialist areas for hair and beauty, crafts, carpentry and plumbing, welding and motor vehicles, wood, metal and pottery, TV studio, a photography studio and a media suite. A 260 person 2 storey lecture theatre was also constructed as part of the scheme.

Sustainability was also a key consideration during the design process with sun pipes installed to maximize use of natural daylight, PIR automatic lighting controls and solar pre heat on the hot water installation.
